Susie looks at a several biblical examples of storms people found themselves in and the consequences of their actions so we can glean insight from their stories.
- Naomi faced unimaginable loss because her husband took matters into his own hands. The lesson: People pay the price when we take matters into our own hands and look for answers that we need to receive from God.
- Jonah’s storm was the consequence of running from God, instead of to Him. The lesson: People pay the price when we abdicate our God given responsibilities.
- Esther did it right. She faced life or death. She responded by asking people to fast and pray. Then she prepared her heart, sought God, and stepped out in faith.
- Jesus used the storm the disciples faced to educate and prepare them. They needed to know how to rest in Jesus’ authority and walk in His power.
- Paul and Silas were imprisoned for confronting evil in their day. God used this injustice to show His power and glory.
God is with you in your storm and He can redeem all your missteps and mistakes. Yet, how you respond in your storm matters!
