Full disclosure: Dan is my husband. He’s pastor at a small church which has a single person on ministry staff: him. When the pandemic hit, suddenly he became a video producer, sound engineer, camera guy and more, all from the comfort of our kitchen for months (as did SO many other pastors!) He also started a daily devotional each weekday morning on Facebook as a way to continue building community and helping support other people’s faith walk. It’s been exciting to see how far the message gets as it’s broadcast on social media! But now, as October comes, it’s been more than 10 months since he’s had a Sunday off. He will finally get a chance to take a much-needed two-week respite in a few days. My thanks to him for his steadfastness and to the other pastors navigating a job that is so much more than its job description!
